To Boldly Go is a Star Trek® fan fiction website to honor Gene
Roddenberry's vision of the future. Instead of the official canon characters, this
site tells the stories of the crews of the starships U.S.S. Providence,
U.S.S. Trailblazer, U.S.S. Monarch, U.S.S. Republic, U.S.S.
Swift, Starbase Gateway
Alpha, and other ships of the 4th Fleet’s 3rd Exploratory Group.
The timeline for To Boldly Go starts in
the Earth year 2375 and continues into the early 25th Century. The missions
begin with the crew of the U.S.S. Providence, NCC-76037, an Intrepid-class
starship under the command of Captain, Robert P. Stuart.

The Starquest
Adventures
c. 2376 (Old Earth Calendar) -Captain Robert P.
Stuart once decided to land the Intrepid-class U.S.S. Providence
on a planet to search for survivors when responding to an alien distress
beacon. The turbulent atmosphere prevented the use of transporters, and it was
too dangerous for a shuttle to traverse. He ordered the ship to land since
sensors were not providing enough information to conduct the search. Captain
Stuart and his crew did not discover, until too late, that unknown elements
within the planet’s atmosphere started
to eat away the tritanium from the ship’s hull. The
ship was doomed, but what if Captain Stuart had decided not to take Providence
into the alien planet’s atmosphere?
What would have been the outcome? Would Providence escape its fate?
To Boldly Go: The Starquest Adventures explores
an alternate timeline where Captain Stuart made a different decision, which
saved the ship on that day; however, fate still wreaked havoc on the U.S.S. Providence
and its crew when the Vendoth attacked the Sol system. The U.S.S. Providence
and many other starships were badly damaged or destroyed. Providence
survived, but the extensive damage would require at least two years to complete
the refit. Captain Stuart, most of his senior officers, and less than half the
crew were reassigned to a new starship—a science vessel. These are the voyages
