Jenar is almost the same size of Earth and has a pleasant climate year-round. The planet has one continental landmass and several hundred small islands that make up about 18 percent of the surface with salt-water oceans and fresh water sources comprising the rest. There are little seasonal differences in the climate due to only an 8 degree axial tilt relative to the planet’s sun. Most of the habitable areas of the planet maintain tropical or sub-tropical temperatures.

Physical Appearance/Culture:  The Jenarans are aquatic humanoids. In appearance, they are similar to humans; however, they have webbed fingers and toes and a fin on top of their heads as well as fins on the back of their forearms. Hair color is typically light brown to dark brown. Eye color tends to be green, but about 20 percent of the population has blue-gray eye color. Skin tends to be green-gray. Jenarans are family-oriented and have a strong sense of duty to serving others. Families tend to be large due to multiple births in each family. Most couples have twins or triplets with each pregnancy, and it is normal for a couple to have twelve to twenty children. Usually, four to six families will join together to form a pod. They enjoy life swimming in the tropical waters of their planet most of the time, but most people build their homes on the shores of the continent and islands. They do not venture more than a few kilometers inland due to several predatory animals that live in the jungles and forests of Jenar. The Jenarans do have a few underwater cities with Atala, about forty kilometers from the western shore of the continent along the planet’s equator, as the capital city. Most Jenarans spend ten to twelve hours a day in the water. They have the ability to spend two, maybe three days on land, but they do need to return to the water to avoid severe dehydration. They reach full physical maturity by age 9 and have an average lifespan of 67 years. Parents usually arrange marriages for their children, with the child’s consent, by the time they reach age 7, and the marriages are formalized in a ritual ceremony and then consummated within a few weeks after their 9th birthday. Few Jenarans choose to remain single; however, those who do, do so out of a commitment to serve their people in ways where marriage and children might be an incumbrance.

Government/History:  The Jenarans maintain a Constitutional Republic with a representative from each pod. The representatives make up a council that meets six times per year in twenty-day sessions to handle planetary business. The council members elect the First Representative to lead the council. Jenar has had a one-world unified government for at least a millennium, and the people have lived peacefully with themselves and with other races they have encountered since they developed warp drive. Only a few Jenarans have joined Starfleet as of 2379; however, more of the younger members of Jenaran society have shown an interest in space travel and serving the Federation away from their home planet in civilian occupations as well as in Starfleet, usually in the sciences and hydroponic agriculture.

Technology:  Jenaran technology is comparable to Earth of the late 23rd Century. They currently have a fleet of eighteen ships in service, including transports and small research vessels. The ships have sophisticated defensive shields and phased energy weapons for defense. The top warp speed for their ships is estimated at warp 8.8. The Federation shared transporter technology with Jenar after the planet was admitted into the Federation in 2361.

Orbital Facilities                    Orbital Observation and Research Station, hundreds of

                                                various types of satellites

Federation Member              No (Friendly)

Joaxia is slightly smaller than Earth. It is a mineral rich world with many mountain ranges and valleys. The valleys are heavily forested, but several areas are grassy plains. The planet has a 25-degree axial tilt, so the seasons are similar to those on Earth. About 64 percent of the surface is covered by saltwater oceans. The planet contains a vast variety of vegetation and small animal lifeforms but only a couple hundred species of larger animals no larger than a baby elephant. Marine life tends to vary in size from microscopic to about eighty meters in length.

Physical Appearance/Culture:  The Joaxians are large humanoids. Males have an average height of 2.49 meters, and females average 2.3 meters. They have light blue skin and blue hair. Their eyebrows are thick and bushy. Their hands resemble animal claws. They also have large round ears and large, long noses. Their body frame is large-boned, and they are muscular. They have blue eyes, and they are very sensitive to bright light; however, the planet’s atmosphere creates an abundance of cloud cover most of the time to block out most direct sunlight. Joaxians pride themselves on their devotion to duty and to protecting their planet’s environment. They also have a strong sense of loyalty to family and obligations to extended family members. They are curious about their world and other worlds beyond their star system, so space exploration is a high priority. They have met a few alien races and developed good relations with those they have encountered in the one hundred twenty-five years since their first warp flight. The average lifespan is 136 years.

Government/History:  The Joaxians maintain a constitutional republic with elected representatives from each of two hundred thirty-eight districts and an elected prime minister. Planetary elections occur every three years for the prime minister position and every four years for the representative positions. The Joaxian Planetary Constitution wisely limits representatives to two consecutive terms and the prime minister to three consecutive terms. The Joaxians have enjoyed a unified planetary government for almost two hundred years.

Technology:  Joaxian technology is comparable to Earth of the early-to-mid 23rd Century. They currently have a fleet of nine exploration ships in service and forty-three smaller defensive ships. Two defensive vessels accompany each exploration vessel, which is lightly armed, and the other defense ships are kept in orbit or within the Joaxian star system. Joaxian ships have defensive shields and phase pulse weapons for defense. Several dozen shuttles have also been built for personnel and cargo transportation from the planet’s surface to larger ships in orbit as well as for ship-to-ship transport. The top warp speed for their ships is warp 7.4. The Joaxians are in the early stages of developing transporter technology, and they have had several successful tests with transporting nonorganic items. They have a vast maglev train system for mass transit between the major cities, and personal electric ground vehicles.

Kelosian

Planet                                     Kelos III

Class                                       M1

Political System                     Monarchy

Capital                                    Nalanus

Population                              848 million

Warp Capable                       2301

Diameter                                12,423 km

Distance from Star                150,921,350 km

Surface Temperature           -12.5° to 32.8°C, Temperate Zone Avg. 23.3°C

Rotation Period                     20 hours 57 minutes

Orbital Period                       371 days 18 hours 57 minutes

Gravity                                   0.97 standard

Moons                                     3 (Janala, Repul, Saleel)

Orbital Facilities                    Several dozen communications satellites and orbital sensor probes

Federation Member              No (Friendly)

Kelos III is a beautiful world that has lush vegetation, grassy plains, and many rivers and lakes on its three continents. The grass, trees, and plants have various shades of purple colors because the planet orbits a red dwarf star, precipitating retinal-based, rather than chlorophyll-based, photosynthesis. About 40 percent of the planet’s surface is covered by water, both salt-water seas and freshwater rivers and lakes.

Physical Appearance/Culture:  The Kelosians are humanoids. They are shorter than most other humanoid races with an average height of 1.3 meters. Among their most notable features are their light blue skin and curved horns (similar to ram horns). Hair color could be various shades of blue, but some Kelosians have white hair. All Kelosians have blue eyes. Females usually wear elaborate skirts, necklaces/jeweled chokers, and a ring on the right thumb. Many tend to keep a Kurand (similar to a small, winged dragon) or two as pets. They are friendly and welcome visitors to their world. They are a matriarchal society where the females hold positions of leadership in politics, careers, and family life; however, males are treated as equals when it comes to parenting. Males typically are responsible for home life and education. Unmarried males usually work in agriculture or public services. Married males with children do not work outside of the family unit but teach their children at home how to read and write as well as all the basic educational subjects of study until children reach the thirteenth year, and then the female children extend their studies either by entering a specialized academy of learning in fields of medicine, science, politics, agriculture, or religion. Kelosians usually have three or four children, but some choose to have less. It is rare for a married couple to only have one child.

Government/History:  The Kelosians are ruled by a hereditary queen who inherits the throne at age 20 and passes the scepter to her eldest daughter when she reaches age 20. The queen has a council of 8 advisors to guide her in areas of law and government. Four advisors are appointed by the queen and four are appointed by the governors of the four provinces. Each of the four governors accepts up to ten candidate recommendations from their citizens for the advisory position and the governor carefully considers each candidate’s qualifications and service records to choose one advisor to send to the capital to serve on the Queen’s Advisory Council.

Technology:  Kelosian technology is comparable to Earth of the late 22nd Century. The Kelosians developed warp drive almost 80 years ago, but after the first and only expedition outside of their star system, they decided that interstellar travel was too dangerous and have focused their space program on unmanned probes. They do desire to be a part of an interstellar community but prefer to invite aliens to come visit Kelos. They do have communication satellites and sensor probes in orbit of their planet. They utilize transporter technology to travel long distances between cities; however, Kelosian transporters require both a sending station and a receiving station.

Luzevi

Planet                                     L’Qenu

Class                                       M

Political System                     Patriarchy

Capital                                    Luzev

Population                              2.1 billion

Warp Capable                       2268

Diameter                                12,863 km

Distance from Star                148,451,575 km

Surface Temperature           -22.3° to 42.4°C, Temperate Zone Avg. 26.2°C

Rotation Period                     22 hours 16 minutes

Orbital Period                       362 days 3 hours 23 minutes

Gravity                                   1.0 standard

Moons                                     1 (J’vel)

Orbital Facilities                    Defense Station 1 and 2, Starship Construction and Repair Station, dozens of communications and weather satellites, and hundreds of defense satellites

Federation Member              No (Neutral)

L’Qenu is almost identical to Earth in size and land to water ratio. The planet has one major continent that spans from the northern polar region to about halfway from the planet’s equator to the southern polar region. Many large and small islands are scattered around the globe in the ocean. One thing that is interesting about L’Qenu’s ocean is that it is rather shallow with an average depth of only 123.6 meters except for a couple of deep chasms that have been measured to be 12.1 kilometers and 14.8 kilometers respectively at their lowest points. The seasons are almost non-existent since the planet has only a 7-degree axial tilt.

Physical Appearance/Culture:  The Luzevi are bipeds with elongated noses and clawed hands. They have large oval-shaped brown eyes, light brown skin, and grayish hair that grows as a mohawk. Females usually shave their heads completely They are muscular and have pointed ears. Their teeth are sharp. They believe that the strong should lead and that females, which are typically about nine or ten centimeters shorter and about sixteen kilograms lighter than their male counterparts, are inferior to males. Males typically have two to four wives, but a few have as many as eight. The more wives a male has indicates his wealth and power. Clans are very competitive and frequently engage in athletic events and games of chance. They are not usually aggressive or easily offended by members of their own species; however, they are cautious of alien races and can become aggressive if threatened.

Government/History:  The Luzevi leadership consists of various levels of patriarchs. The smallest level is the patriarch of a nuclear family, which is made up of a male, his wives, and his children. The next level is the patriarch of an extended family or clan with the eldest patriarch leading the other patriarchs within the clan. The highest level is a council of clan patriarchs with the eldest of the council as the High Patriarch, who has the final say in planetary matters after the council discusses issues that have been addressed. The Luzevi have been at war for a little more than a hundred years with a planet—Hyvol IV—in a star system that is less than three light-years away, so a war council made up of the seventeen strongest family patriarchs to make decisions on matters of planetary defense and warfare was created. The war council is subservient to the High Patriarch.

Technology:  The Luzevi developed warp drive over one hundred years ago, and they traveled to the nearest star system that they refer to as Hyvol. When they found a sentient species known as the Serapzel, they tried to communicate and open a friendly dialog; however, the Serapzel saw the Luzevi as invaders and killed or injured most of them. Due to this failed first contact incident, the Luzevi started developing advanced weapons and started building defense satellites and eventually two defensive orbital stations, which have been instrumental in defending against attacks by the Serapzel. They also upgraded their orbital starship construction facility. In the years that followed, the Luzevi developed transporter technology, which has become the main source of transportation on the planet, replacing the use of ground vehicles, as well as for transportation to the orbital facilities and ships.

Gravity                                   0.996 standard

Moons                                     1 (Cheepa)

Orbital Facilities                    N/A

Federation Member              No (Primitive)

Wugvej is similar to Earth in size and land to water ratio. The planet has many forests as well as deserts, and it has two sentient lifeforms.

Physical Appearance/Culture:  The Mratos is one of two sentient lifeforms that live on Wugvej. Mratos only have an average height of 0.92 meters. They have several similarities to rodents, especially their facial features, teeth, hands/paws, and feet. They also have three tales as well as two short horns on each side of their heads. Skin and short fur color tends to be medium brown and the hair on their heads is usually various shades of blonde. Many males pull their hair back and tie it into a top knot. They have keen eyesight and can see quite well in the dark. Mratos are polygamous, and families are dominated by the males. Females typically give birth to three to five babies per pregnancy. The Mratos wear cloth tunics and pants. They are organized into many tribes that, at times, have been adversarial toward each other, but alliances have also been formed between some tribes against others; however, all tribes are united against the other sentient race—a reptilian species known as the Grota—that has a hunger for the Mratos.

Government/History:  Each tribe has a chief and council of elders. When tribes join together against other tribes or against the Grota, a united tribal council of chiefs choose a war chief to lead the tribes that are united together. Mratos have a history that is similar to the native peoples of North America with similarities to European tribes of the early Middle Ages.

Technology:  The Mratos are primitive, so their level of technology consists of steel knives and arrowheads, curved bows, and wooden arrows and spears.
